bluesavannah.blogspot.com

I was a smoker too and quit when I found out I was pregnant. Best thing I ever did and I did it cold turkey. Do try to quit and hopefully it becomes a lifelong decision for you. It's not easy - I sooooo know that! Just like Sobia, if I picked one up - I would start right back up again. I wish you all the best when you make the decision to quit. You can do it!! :)

Well, I imagine your Dad wasn't so nice in the way he spoke with you...I always hated the lectures from my parents too. I have a nasty confession, I smoke for a few years too...quitting was the hardest thing I'd ever done..even today when I drive, I miss it. If I ever picked one up again, I'd never stop..I loved menthols and can still fill that crisp delicious yearn for that burning in my chest...isn't that nuts? My husband smoked too, just upped and quit one day. I couldn't do it. Finally I started keeping suckers around and instead of poping a cig in my mouth, I'd try a mint or a sucker while driving, and at home popsicles. I know it sounds nuts, but it began working. Slowly I quit and now the smell of others smoking makes me sick, but I so get why they do it. I hope you find someway to stop, you'll be glad you did in the future. :)

eventjob.blogspot.com

My two cents...

1) JUST STOP (if you're in that stage where you say you can stop anytime but continue to have them every day for some reason... lol)

2) Go out, party, drink a lot, have a few celebratory smokes for quitting if you need to - then sleep for AS LONG AS POSSIBLE if you already think you're addicted.

Strapping young person like yourself could easily sleep away 3/4 of a day, maybe even a full one if possible - by the time you wake up, you've already been "clean" for a full day - and make it to three days and the cravings will stop I promise.

From then on it's just willpower to stop that nasty habit of putting things in your mouth. But your physical cravings will be gone in 3 days without cigarettes i promise!
