Thought I would take a bit of a break from the blogoshere especially with big Eid and New Years being so close together, somehow I doubt anyone noticed.
I decided to do our Eid on the Sunday (instead of the Saturday which I had previosly set my mind on). Main reason being my uncle came over after jumah prayers and said it would be better for us if we did Eid on the same day, that I agreed on. Then he went to say that he genuinely believes that Eid is on the Sunday, I didn't bother to question and go into specifics as to why. The general understanding is that he follows Morocco as it is the nearest muslim country to the UK. I am sure if my old man was here we would celebrate on the same day, so as everyone of our relatives had decided on Sunday I thought why not.
This meant Eid and New Years Eve were on the same day, I had originally decided to go to London to watch the fireworks but later cancelled as I gathered the siblings would not be happy (which boba confirmed) as it wouldn't be the same, plus they need a driver. My cousin had already told me they were going London for New Years and I was regretting not going because it turned out to be a quiet Eid without the guys.
Later in the evening, me, Abz and Rio made a random decision to go to Manchester city center to watch a few fireworks. We didn't stay there long, not enough to watch any fireworks, reason being we got bored and decided to head home. On the way back I did 110 mph in my pissy 1 litre Suzuki Swift, did anyone know that was possible? I sure didn't.
I'm going to put up some new year's resolutions sometime soon, don't know how honest I can be though!
Maybe you should resolve to DRIVE SAFE! Gees! 110 is pretty dang fast, especially on new years when everyone's out and about and half are drunk! Ok, that was the mother in me....I'll go away now ha ha
You came to Manchester.
Although i totally try and sell manchester as the best place EVER, to everyone, all the time.
New Years isn't one of those times - Nothing ever happens - i would be surprised if there even were any fireworks.
Happy new year anyway
Eid Mubarak & Happy New Year! :-)
Hmm, 110mph can't be good. Careful you don't blow the head gasket (this has happened to a couple of people I know, after doing 100mph+ speeds in small cars).
I spent a lot of Eid in the car too, though not going quite as fast heh ;-)
do u actually get jalaybis there? i havent seen one for so long now
at times like that all i was thinking i want a fast car, ive only just discovered that im a speed freak
and yes rai we do have jalaybis, ambala sweet centre does some good ones - not had one in a while either
