You know that I’ve quit work right? Well, I was supposed to go in today to hand in my resignation letter (which I’ve not written btw) and part of resigning is two weeks advance notice.
I woke up today at 6am, went to the bog, washed my face, brushed my teeth and was about to do my hair when I thought “fuck this! No way am I working two weeks; I’m off to bed” and so I did. Woke up again at 10:30 and texted a work mate to ask if anyone had said anything about me. He said they had asked him and he said he doesn’t know what the situation is. My manager is on holiday at the moment so he’ll be in for a surprise when he gets back.
On that news I slept some more and at 11:30 I was woken up by a call from a friend asking why I hadn’t been in and that someone senior had said it’s unusual for me to do such a thing without any notice. Also that everyone was thinking something drastic must have happened. When I told him the story (that I’m a lazy sod) he was bawling in laughter, saying I’m a crazy dude (none of my work mates know what a nutcase I can be).
“So have you rang ‘em and told ‘em?”
“Nah man, I ain’t ringing no-one. They can ring me”
“T this is crazy, we should hook up man”
Think about it. I simply woke up one day (the Sunday just gone past) and decided on the spot that I quit work, without handing in a resignation letter or letting anyone know which means they still don’t have a clue.
Done in true desi style (well actually I haven’t done anything which is the whole point).
OMG! You are soooo awful! ha ha ha ha
that is so bad! You won't be getting a good reference from them :p although I have a feeling you're not too bothered about that :)
I can't say I'm impressed. "True desi style" might be cool, but in this case it also is rather immature. Whatever might have happened with with job to compel you to quit, you owe the company the common decency to which everyone is entitled. It's not hard to ring up and tell them, if writing a formal letter is too tiring. Plus, it doesn't do you any favours for the future. Whether future employers learn about this or not (and it's fairly likely they will, seeing as you've written all this in your blog, and many employers now search the web for info on their candidates - well, I'm talking about *decent* jobs there, which you're no doubt aspiring to have after you complete your studies), it's clear that you've let your usually high standards down. I certainly wouldn't want one of my employees to act like this - it would be very bad for business. And although, to my shame, I can recall similar situations from my own youth, I was at that time, as I expect you are now - immature. And I don't mean that to be insulting, by the way. Sure, quit your job that you dislike, but do it with dignity, in a way that you can be proud of.
hahaha..jokerr!! that crakd me up. dude nazmaz rite tho..wot abt ur reference?
toseef, i think that u have a duty to your employer. dont bite the hand that feeds u cos u never know, somewhere, someday down the line, u might need soemthing from that very employer

just get on with it man, the weekend will come again and you'll feel the same... they might not be so tolerant u'd rather hand in the resignation letter b4 they sack you
wish u all the best which eva way u choose to resign
take care :)
i think it's quite funny.
and if you have to be proper and write a letter, tell them that the job was mind-numbing and you just can't be arsed to wake up early every morning to do it.
tell them it's sucking out your soul.
usually i am against 'true desi style' but sometimes, it IS damn funny and more ballsy than ass-licking, apologetic letters like 'dear sir, i appreciate all the crap you've thrown my way. i do, i really do. but i regret to inform you that i can't take it anymore and have reached a point where i am tempted to blow my brains out at the mere thought of coming into work. sincerely, (the late) xyz'.
