Saw 3 (The Movie)

Sunday 29th October 2006 04:09:00 PM

Went to watch Saw 3 with Abz at Wakefield Cinema and what a total waste of time and money. Don’t bother with it – grab a takeout, kick a ball, bang your head against the wall, anything to keep you away from this sick twisted movie.

If you’re going to watch it anyway, do yourself a favour and stop reading now.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS

The most surprising thing about the movie is that the old fogey (who, if you have seen Saw 2, will assume is dead) is actually alive, funnily enough on his death bed, and still “wants to play a game with you”.

For his cunning game he gets his trusty sidekick Amanda, to kidnap a female doctor along with her husband who are going through a divorce. The husband, Jeff, is in a warehouse (like the plot in Saw 2) and has to carry out various blood-wrenching tasks to stay alive. His wife’s task is to keep the sick old man alive while, unknown to her, her husband carries out the tasks. Only downside for her is she wearing a killer-helmet which would snap her head off if the old man’s heart rate flatlines.

The reason why Jeff is in the cell is because he has never gotten over the death of his son who was killed in a car crash, and the man responsible has never been caught. On the other hand, his wife has been taking anti-depressants as a result of his behavior. They have a daughter who is neglected because of his state of mind and her heavy work schedule.

There are quite a few gory scenes, mainly where the doctor has to operate on the old man’s skull using a drill and mechanical saw while he is still conscious.

Love the way the movie ends though, nearly everyone ends up dead. The old man gets his head sawed off (courtesy of Jeff) and as a result his wife’s head pop’s off. Amanda is shot by Jeff so that only leaves him alive with absolutely no idea how to find is daughter.

If you’ve seen Saw 1 and 2 then you may aswell see the end, otherwise don’t bother. Saw 2 was the best in my opinion. Glad the series are over though.
