I was on the living room computer today (instead of the laptop) and dad walks in “Let me look at your bank accounts” he says demandingly. I am vexed. Okayyyyy can’t really say no to him can ya? “I want to know what you get up to these days” – I stay quite.

So I load up my HSBC and Barclays accounts for him and say “Enjoy” as I go upstairs. You won’t believe how ridiculous they are these days, ever since the smoking business.

You might think “Oh they’re your parents” etc but I’ve had enough of this invasion of privacy overprotective desi parents shit who can’t hold a conversation together with their kids! Fuck fuck fuck

It's so freaking obnoxious. I don't get it either. Just tell him you don't do online banking and you don't get it in the mail either. You just walk in when you need to know and leave it at that. I'm horrified for ya.

I remember once my hsbc statement came and I was saying to mum not to check my credit card transactions, bad mistake. Got a rollacking from dad later "as long as you stay in my house I can check" blah blah blah

Trick is to let em check..if u protest n get mad n throw a fit...they will do it more ..neways u probably aint got nothin to hide so b encouragin n then see them stop..

Thats never happened to me! But it's just reminded me that my mum used to have to show her FIL her bank statements.

So maybe thats why she never did it to me.

I'm just generalising here - but thats why so many asians are 'undercover' about everything
