Bollywood Oscars coming to Yorkshire in 2007!

I was watching calendar news the other day and was shell shocked when they said Bollywood will be attending their next Oscars in Yorkshire. I nearly choked on the roti I was eating I tells ya.

Then there were a few words from Amitabh Bachchan who was saying it was a difficult decision to make and that he was looking forward to the beautiful cold of Yorkshire. Rani Mukherji also said a few words but clearly didn’t know what she was talking about.

Let me throw some links at ya - one, two, three.

Now let me get this straight, they chose Yorkshire over New York? NYC has a lot to offer but cold cruddy Yorkshire? Nothing exciting here (anyone can tell you that). I just feel sorry to the stars who don’t know what they’re in for, probably never heard of the place never mind been here.

I was at a Bradford cinema over the weekend and it was like I’m in Pakistan/India, guys thinking they’re oh so cool, women in (oh don’t get me started on the women). Only went Bradford ‘cos I wanted to have something decent to eat after.

This is probably why they chose Yorkshire, 'cos there’s loads of Asians and wonderful desi food. They’re sure to feel at home.

But I still don’t get it, Yorkshaaar?!
