I don't think I've mentioned it here but my brother-in-law is here (from America) and is living with us. As a result I've been shifted into my sisters room (boba'a) and it's quite a laugh (we chat a lot of shit).
Yesterday my elder sister (who is married) and her hubby were invited to her friend's wedding in London and they told us they would be staying over. So that night I thought it would be a good idea to sleep in my own room (was missing the comfy double bed).
Next morning I woke up and surprisingly found myself back in the single bed in boba's room. What the hell had just happened?
Lying in bed I came to the conclusion that they must have changed their minds and come back during the night, but how did they shift me to this bed without me realizing? The only solution I could think of was that they had picked me up and moved me into the room. I thought about it a little more and I began to doubt that they (sister and her hubby) could move a 9.5 lbs guy.
What could have happened? I couldn't remember anything, for me it was like I slept in the same bed throughout the night without any disturbances. Whatever had happened it was a really smooth transaction.
I decided to get up and ask my sister to let me in a few details. Conversation was something along the lines of...
Me: So you came back early yesterday, how come?
Sis: It was either that or setting off early in the morning ...
Me: How did you guys move me into this bed, picked me up and moved me across?
Sis: (laughing) Yeh right, like I could lift you
Me: How'd you do it then?
Sis: Well I must have been there for a good 15-20 minutes trying to wake you up, "C'mon Toseef, wake up!" and I was moving/nudging you about.
Me: Really? I don't remember
Sis: You'd reply saying "Alright Aapa (punjabi word meaning sister) I'm getting up" a few times and you'd go back to sleep.
Me: No way! Get real! Stop messing with me?
Sis: No I'm serious, you can ask Mum if you like. She woke up from the fuss we were making. Then Mum said 'Pick him up if you have to, just move him'.
Me: So what'd you do?
Sis: I gripped you by the arms and told you to walk, directing you left and right
Me: I was walking?! How come I don't remember?
Sis: I don't know, but you walked it yourself from that room to this one
Me: *ASTONISHED* (paused for a few seconds) but you could have walked me anywhere!
Sis: (laughing) Yeh
I couldn't believe it, I really could not. I was so shocked that it only dawned on me when I had the story confirmed by Mum and the brother-in-law.
Not only could my sister have walked me to anywhere, she could also have asked me anything and I probably have replied with the correct answer. Think about it, if she's saying "C'mon Toseef, wake up!" and I'm replying with "Alright Aapa I'm getting up" without realizing something is psychologically messed-up. It freaks me out to think I was replying to the correct person and saying what she wanted to hear. Just imagine what someone could find out if they knew this side of me!
& so this was the day I found out I'm a sleep-walking-talking guy.
LOL, I did that once, quite some years ago now...
I got up, took the usual route to the bathroom and couldn't find the light switch so just pee'd in the general direction of the bowl. I walked away to the sound of my ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend asking me what I was doing...? WTF was he doing in the bathroom? Asleep in the bath or what? Weirdo.
So I went back to bed...
Next morning I was told I pissed all over a bag of my ex-girlfriend's clothes... Ooops, I wasn't at home was I...? Oh well *laughing*
lol i have a younger sister who does the same and sometimes its the most hilarious thing ever. i mean technically, you can ask her to do anything and she will, but in the mornings, she wouldnt remember any of it..
a bit scary if you ask me..!
yea - that is weird! I always get freaked out thinking about crazy things you might say or do while half asleep.
haha that is a great story. i have a brother who sleeptalks as well as sleepwalks -- needless to say, this has led to much amusement in the past. brothers who do stuff in their sleep are the best -- it gives us sisters great ammunition to embarass them in front of their friends -- just kidding, of course :-P.
I am also a sleepwalker/talker.Mostly sitting up in bed and talking w/eyes wide open,I'm told. Just recently started walking and doing things around the house all the while sleeping.
The most horrifying is when I attacked my boyfriend in my sleep. And I awoke to find him on top of me trying to restrain me. It was very scary I had no clue what was going on.
lol...ur better off!i shoot off names of random guys i have nothing to do with.and with my busy schedule, i sometimes nod off while sitting around with family.so its a real brow-raiser when ur daughters sleeping and randomly says "saad" ..or "adnan"..lol..and at those times i swear i didnt know any saad!probably heard the name somewhere.sometimes i giggle too, so just imagine the reaction the combo gets out of my family.thank god they trust me and know that its not a reflection of my activities.lol
Happy Independence Day to you! =)
update!
Assalaamu Alaykum. Hilarious experience. I've heard similar stories...some of them in my own household! So no surprises there. My only advice to you: Better be careful. ;-)
I am a sleepwalker too. I was reading all your comments and I got scared and laugh too!! It could be scary at the same time very funny. It is really scary the fact that anyone can make you do anything they want while you are on this stage and also I felt very familiar with the boyfriend situation. I started noticing my boyfriend would hold me really really tight. I would wake up with his arms around me holding me really tight, I thought he just loved me really much but now I realize he was retraining me from getting up... I have gotten dressed and even washed my face. thank you sharing I don't feel alone in this anymore.
dude u r losin it!!! lolz
ha ha..I used to worry about that too.
