It's all about getting rid of the internet cables and being able to access the net from my bedroom computer.
Purchasing a Bluetooth wireless modem is the cheap and easy way of receiving a wireless connection. I didn't know you could become wireless on dial-up and was surprised when I saw a Bluetooth wireless modem on eBay (while searching for Bluetooth).
I managed to pick it up for only £44.50; all I had to do was install the driver from the cd and literally had it working within 10 minutes. If you are on dial-up (like myself), this is the best method of going wireless.
You'll need a Bluetooth USB stick for the modem to be able to connect to the computer, luckily I already had one.
The great thing is that it has a range of 100 metres which means I can access it from anywhere in the house! Obviously the further away you are the less bytes are transferred per second.
Just incase you are wondering, the specifications are on the Cadmus Micro page, who are the manufactures of this wonderful Bluetooth modem.
This gives me even more reason to buy a laptop, but I got no money at the moment :-(
Wireless rules :D
Glad you got yourself sorted - 100M is pretty cool - that's like 300 feet...
Man, I hate cables period. Though talking of which makes me wonder if they do wireless stereo for cars... I gotta re-install a sub and an amp and don't really want to do that "tearing up the carpet" game... hmmm
