As a book fanatic when I heard about the extraordinary 'The DaVinci Code' I knew I had to read it. After reading the covers I realized this was not at all my type of book, but it is very unlike me to judge a book by it's cover and so I carried on reading.
I have to admit the first seven chapters are utterly boring but with the reviews it had I still kept my faith and carried on reading. Very soon the book had a grip on my hands and I could not take my eyes off the pages.
This book has anagrams twisted into riddles and riddles moulded into puzzles. It has a strong faith in feminism. Although personally, my favorite character is Bezu Fache, Langdon and Neveu are two characters that will stay in your mind a long time after you have finished reading it. This book is like a history lesson with an unexpected plot.
The film is due to air in 2007 but will Tom Hanks live up to expectations of the character Robert Langdon? I think not.
Dan Brown creates a world which is thrilling, nerving but very satisfying. You can see what Dan Brown has to say about the book on his website - www.danbrown.com. His other books are also worth a read.

Hmm, I think I'll wait 'til the film comes out... I read"The Holy Blood & The Holy Grail"once and, although very interesting, was a little heavy going... though there was a DaVinci Code documentary a few months ago...
